Time to make reviews before saying good bye.

i'm leaving turkey soon, and lately i've been thinking about what will i write when i leave, everybody writes really moving emotional stuff, but i don't feel like i'm able to do that, so i'll talk from my deepest inside, of this experience i'm taking some learnings for life (like never ever wear street shoes inside the houses), the humbling experience: when you have nothing, u understand nothing and u just depend on other people, that makes u humble and grateful, grateful because 100% of the people i've been in touch with were great and willing to help so still i feel a lucky person, it's really amazing that people that hardly know you are just there for you, to help you... so next time i find somebody lost in an enviroment i know i'll think twice before leaving that person, i feel grateful will the universe and like i need to give back all i've received, erasmus really changes u, sometimes good and sometimes bad and though sometimes i've really hated istanbul and it's made me so nervous i'm not regretting anything here, it's been kind of challenge for me and i've felt new things because i've never ever ever been that lost, so thanks to all the people that made this extremely huge hostile city a bit more like home <3

(Ps. The text before came directly from my heart so I don't feel like correcting mistakes, sorry for that)

  • Caminar a todas partes.
With the Christmas' arrival, one feels nostalgic and it's even worse if you are far away from home, I've missed many things, but now my feelings are more pronounced, so I write the list of things I miss (there isn't an order, I miss all of them equally):

  • Bacon and other pork's products (thus included, chorizo, the stews, the pork's cheeks, fries with egg and chorizo, pork-smelly barbecues and so on).
  • Good easy-to-find olive oil.
  • Going out for a coffee and arriving home next morning wondering what I have done last night.
  • Sing being drunk in the street.
  • Going everywhere on my foot.
  • Tapas.
  • Cheap beer and in every supermarket (so I also miss when Friday came and I had my beer with my homemade tapa).
  • Mercadona, Día and all the supermarkets I know, here there are also Dia and Carrefour but the stock changes, it may seem silly, but going to the supermarket and don't understand anything and don't find anything I used to buy made me an eating-out person (and I used to eat at home always).
  • Of course, the shutters, dark curtains don't totally work... (but we have mops, eh).
  • Coffee, here we have disgusting nescafe's dust, I miss the coffee made in the Italian coffee maker, please, those of you who can take it, take advantage of it, you never know how much you miss something so daily and simply as a little lovely coffee.

Merry Christmas!

Today I have a Christmas feeling of peace and love so so so strong, I'm really happy, I went out to go to the school and it was snowing! (not snowy, snowing! with superfat snowballs).
The mattres where the cats  in the neighbourhood used to sleep...
Those are stair, with so much snow that you can't almost see them.
Ser aleatorio yendo al cole también. Random human being going to the school too.
Siento que vivo en el Muro. I feel like living in the Wall.

Nightlife!

- No sé, yo bebo cerveza.

Y me dijo:

- Bah , tú no eres una chica.

Segundo hecho:

When someone goes out in Istanbul, one goes to Taksim, look, you can go to other places like Besiktas but Taksim is the Pedro Antonio in here (Pedro Antonio is the bar street in Granada). I don't go out that much because I am poorer than rats and also I'm a bit old and I get rired, but on Friday I went out and then I enjoyed a huge hangover that won't allow me to drink in at least one week, but there was a bar where beer were cheaper than in shops (from 8 to 4 liras), so I had to take advantage of that...

Anyway, there were three things that I least I remember, first of them the conversation below with a random human being who came net to me in the bar when I was asking for a beer:

- Eh, what do girls usually drink? My girlfriend and her friend are here and I have to keep them happy so I didn't ask them what they drink.

I said:

- I don't know, I drink beer.

And he said:

- Bah, you are not a girl.

Second fact:

A dude wore my cardigan and he left with it, cold is so bad... I realized about this on Sunday when I was doing the laundry, I missed my cardigan and then my brain enlighted and appeared in my mind the boy wearing it and leaving the bar.

After I was said not to be a girl and a boy stole my cardigan, I'm having a gender crisis, I already knew I wasn't so femenine, but seriously, am I so masculine?

Third fact is that the taxi driver didn't ask me for money, I was all destroyed but I'm a peaceful drunk girl and not violent, so he stopped and picked me up and he said me half in his bad English and half in my even worse Turkish: oh, it's so cold (or sth like that) and I said that I wasn't cold, that I've had so much beer that I was sweatingm so with all my peacefullness I took his hand and put it on my face and my face was burning, so the driver was really glad because after two minutes in the taxi it was all foggy with my smelly drunk body heating, anyway, he didn't ask me for money, he was feeling really shame about me or sth. I know this last history it's so weird, but in defense I say that the taxi driver didn't have bad intentions, it's just that I'm that kind of drunky who is so destroyed that causes shame so in people arises a maternal/paternal protecting feeling, because this same history already happened to me in Lanzarote, to be so destroyed that a friendk took me into a taxi and they didn't ask for money. I'm a lucky drunk girl :) and in case my good luck fails, my flatmate gave me a pepper spray for my defense :)
By the way, not to be away from who I am, I left in the French way (without saying goodbye).

Tampax!

I've visited two countries where Islam is quite (or super) important, Morocco and Turkey and, despite that I'm not using tampons, in both countried I've realized (by friends' experiences or by myself, looking for them moved by my curiosity) that findinf tampons is a really hard labor, there aren't! Well, there are, but find and pay them... I don't know if that's a religious fact or a secular cultural thing, but in France, England, Ireland and Spain there are tampons in every supermarket. So I invent that it's a religious fact, anyway, it's sooo silly thing, using a tampon won't turn us into impure women nor won't give us pleasure (quite the opposite), and also you won't loose you virginity (in case you still preserve it) by using them, anyway, I don't use them but I think it's curious and to all the girls using them and go on a trip in a similar country, remember to be "equipped".

I've just been walking until the place where it was cheaper to take a taxi and I witnessed a car accident, this is what I saw:
a car was being driven faster than it should be (and i'm not talking about speed limit, because sometimes I also ignore them) when suddenly it spilled and go over face down like two hundred meter, a beer bottle got out from the window and finally they were stopped because they crashed their car side part with the front part of a taxi. Luckily, the couple inside went out on their own and the boy kissed the girl in the forehead, but the girl went running to a taxi that started and was gone so fast, while the boy was taking her handbag from inside the car, but she was already gone in the taxi.
Cameramen arrived in less time than it takes to me rolling a cigarrette, which is less than a minute.
Police lasted 1/4 of a cigarrette, that is like two minutes.
Ambulance lasted between ten and fifteen minutes.
This is what I interpret:
I guess the boy in the car was quite drunk, I think he scored the girl (I don't think that she was his girlfriend or a kind of serious relationship, since she was gone as soon as she could, or maybe they were on a relationship but she gives a fuck about him, anyway, I don't care, I said this is a personal interpretation), back to my story, they got into the car to arrive somewhere to consume theirselves but he wanted to show off his driving skills or something but at the end he screwed everything up, he was without girl and without car. So you guys, don't drive or get into a car if you are drunk/the driver is drunk. Really, I've seen this same situation like five times in person (yeah, I'm a bad luck bringer eh) and fortunately the people today survived, but this crashes are not invented by the sensationalist news, that happens.
It's more worthy to spend a few money in the taxi (at the end you win your life!) or walk, some people say that walking alone at night is dangerous, and also me being a girl, but sons of mine, my economy doesn't allow me another thing and it still seems to me more secure than the drunk driving.
Also in long journeys (thus expensive) you can do as I did today, the safest parts of the journey walking and the most dangerous by taxi. Anyway, each one can do what you want but I'm slightly traumatized.
On the other hand, it seems really strange that the cameramen only lasted one minute and the police and the ambulance 15, why? are the cameras always waiting for something to happen? are they raptors? Certainly, priorities in our society are a bit untidy, in my opinion.

Fucking politicians!

http://menteinsomne.wordpress.com/2013/11/05/erasmus-orgasmus-tumbando-mitos/

It's not about the money, it's about the right, because one is honest and the politician lies and they beat us.
I have to say that this entry is inspired in my last status update in Facebook, but I take the advantage that here I translate everything for those who don't know Spanish (and maybe read me) know what is happening in the infamous country which I'm not proud of at all. (Canary independence now! I want to be Canary and not Spanish, with my Canary passport <3). Anyway, personal opinions aside, I don't pretend to start discussions with anybody about the Canary independence or not, anyway, personal opinions aside, I don't pretend to start a discussion with anybody about independance or not, each one on its way.
What I want to do is to share an entry I found, demystifying the Erasmus scholarship and as I am an Erasmus student, I confirm it!
And, why my annoyance? Because our "education" minister (he's a joke!) pretended to take the money we were promised, I repeat, PROMISED (promised also in a burocratic way, and the burocracy is the important thing for them, and here, next to me, I have my credentials) and at the end this year Eramus students can keep the money, but next year we are over those scholarships! I'm so sorry that people next year won't be able to afford going abroad with an Erasmus scholarship, anyway, I suppor them in protests and so on (obviously, when I'm back to Spain) because, as a person living this experience, is something that I absolutely recommend. I have to say that some things are really difficult and sometimes I've been close to a nervous crisis, but the good things compensate, and what you learn makes it a worthy experience.
Back to my point, facing the complains of some people about our scholarship (and yes, students like us) saying that we are in a non stop party with their taxes (absolutely false), a girl wrote this entry that I recommend to read (in Spanish, but whoever wanting it, can ask for a translation, the girl is in Ireland and I think she could do it, if she doesn't have time or whatever, ask me :D).

http://menteinsomne.wordpress.com/2013/11/05/erasmus-orgasmus-tumbando-mitos/

In my case, everyday I have to do to the lessons because we have to sign, and if you are absent more than three times you loose the right to take your exam, also, here the cheapest beer is €6 a liter (yes, in alcohol shops, they don't sell alcohol in supermarkets, those shops are the cheapest place, neither you can buy alcohol after 10 p.m.) so you can imagine how often and much I get drunk... Never! I only drink a liter per week to taste it and spend my time drinking coffee and tea. And also with Erasmus we learn a lot and we grow! It's a matter of culture, not money!
So those that say that Erasmus is Orgasmus are wrong (I wish I had a lot of non stop party and a lot of orgams, but babies, this is real life!). Even those who think that in Poland you live the Orgasmus because of the cheap beer, I have to mention a friend that was there last year and at the beginning it was non stop party but at the end he had to study hard as every student must do to pass the exams.
Also, in my case, I'm not angry because of the money (I didn't count on the few money that they were going to give me, it doesn't even pay the rent) and I'm lucky (and conscious that I am) that my parents can afford the fact that I'm here (and, for the record, I respect them so I don't waste my time hanging out all day long), but I'm angry because they take the money of some people that I know and really need it, also I'm angry because it's a promise (and I repeat again, burocratic promise!) that has been broken, like all the promises from our fucking politicians.
